If it's scrubby zoom you're after, I too am in the camp that always disables it in PS to make it less irritating, lol. Not sure if I'm following exactly. Scrubby Zoom Select the Zoom tool and enable Scrubby Zoom in the Options bar. Then, click-drag left/right to zoom out/in. Select the Zoom tool and disable Scrubby Zoom in the Options bar.
